Flames of War Hobby League - Week 2

Here we are at the end of week two of our Eastern Irregulars Flames of War hobby league! So how'd we all get on?

Brent's British Churchill Tanks (Italy)

Not only did Brent get some block painting done, he even went into battle, slaying a Tiger force to boot!




Ian's British Rifle Company

Ian's been busy pumping out the infantry and also a snazzy objective. Adding some felt to the underside of his bases is also a great idea to prevent troops from sliding about!







Mike's US Rangers

I've been painting up a few more stands so that I can field my Ranger platoons as full Rifle rifle platoons one day. I also un-based my flame-throwers (pro-tip put your old bases in the freezer for 24hrs and then simply bend the base to release the figures). I've also rebased my FFI platoon. I'll need to make up some more teams later on to bring it up to full strength. Then I applied my standard brown dirt scheme to bring them all into line.





Patrick's German Assault Guns

Pat's been digging into his mixed StuG battery and rocket launchers.




Phil's German Panzers

Rob's Churchills are rolling forward off the assembly lines.

It's been a while since we had an update, but things have kept charging forward! We had no fewer than three FoW games played in the last couple of weeks using our growing Hobby League armies! Brent's British took on some T-34s and came out victorious. Ian and Rob played a game with their league forces, and Pat and I got a pair of games as well! Here's some of the photos we got sent in. Flames of War Hobby League - Week 7

Welcome to week 7 of the EI Hobby League! This has been a light week for progress photos, so we'll keep it short. But we're going to soon be ready for a club day out, so be prepared! Mike's US Rangers All I was able to get done this week was another cavalry patrol. I might end up making a formation out of these before too long! Patrick's German Assault Guns Patrick's made some progress on his Panzer IVs this week: Phil's German Panzers Rather than work on Hobby League stuff, Phil has crafted himself a post-apocolyptic self-defence weapon instead, though he claims its to help him spray an entire formation in one go! He's also done a little more work on his Tiger. Rob's British Rifle Company Rob's finished his aircraft and has made a little more progress through his infantry, and an "odd" platoon of some late 75mm Shermans. That's if for this week! Flames of War Hobby League - Week 5

As the hobby league rolls into week 5, many of us have completed the first batch of 50 points, so that's a huge milestone! The next one is an easy 75 points total, so only 25 more points, followed by another 25 after that! With so many of us finishing up our 50 points, we should start thinking about running a small event to show off our progress. I'll post up a topic in the facebook group to start that ball rolling. In the meantime, here's our weekly progress: Brent's British Churchill Tanks (Italy) Brent's been overseas on business, so he doesn't have a current update.
